A system, whether a family, a team, or a business speaks through relationships, patterns, and sensations, not through physical presence. The online format does not reduce depth. Rather, it often makes the work more accessible and, at times, even more focused.

What Is Systemic Mapping

Systemic mapping is a method for exploring the hidden dynamics within a system, be it a family or an organisation. At times, a person has a clear goal and takes the right actions, yet still encounters repeating patterns in results or relationships.

In other situations, there may be no specific problem, but rather an overall sense of stagnation, or a search for a different direction or development. The Systemic mapping does not primarily look for causes and solutions. Instead, it explores where balance has been disturbed and where potential for transformation and change exists.

Who It Is Suitable For (Online)

Online sessions are suitable when this is the preferred or most accessible format for you. The format does not limit the topics that can be addressed and is appropriate for both individual work and teams of varying sizes.

How the Process Unfolds

01

Preparation

For the session you will need:

  • A quiet space where you will not be interrupted
  • A stable internet connection and headphones (optional)
  • Paper and a pen (if you prefer to take notes)

The session can take place on any type of device. However, we recommend using a computer or tablet rather than a phone, as the work is digital and visual and is significantly more comfortable on a larger screen. The process also flows more smoothly when your hands are free and you do not need to hold the device throughout the session.

An email address is required so that each participant can receive a connection link for the session.

02

Clarifying the Topic

Systemic work focuses on the facts of the present moment, as well as past events that may be influencing it. We ask precise questions in order to arrive at the essence of the topic:

  • What is the issue, and how do you experience it today?
  • What are the current relationships like?
  • What would you like to be different?
  • What have you already tried?
  • Are there key events (that you are aware of) in the history of the family, team, or organisation such as loss of people or resources, bankruptcies, sudden changes, mergers, or other events that had a strong impact?
03

Mapping the System

Depending on the topic, we may explore:

  • A family system: relationships, parenting, health, money
  • A business system: founder(s), partners, team, clients, product, finances, goals, values, mission, etc.

At this stage, we work only with the image of the system as you experience it in the present moment.

04

Online Representation

At this step, we use a digital application for systemic analysis to represent the relationships within the system.

Through it:

  • Each element (person, symptom, resource, business factor) is given a place
  • Elements are positioned in space according to inner perception
  • We explore the relationships between them in the present moment - tension, closeness, distance, absence of contact
  • We observe how all elements respond to each intervention

The application supports the creation of a clear picture by making visible dynamics and dependencies that may not be easily seen on the surface.

05

Revealing the Dynamics

As the system is represented, it becomes visible what is blocking development and the flow of energy, such as:

  • An excluded member or fact (someone or something that has been "forgotten")
  • Role reversals (a family member carrying responsibility for another, an employee standing in the place of a leader, etc.)
  • Interrupted belonging
  • Disturbed order (who came first, who carries responsibility, who pays the price)
  • Blocked flow (money, love, recognition, trust, support)

The process is guided and structured, and you receive clear support and orientation throughout.

06

Corrective Movement and Integration

Once the root of the current situation becomes clear, we move into exploring the potential and possible directions for change.

We work with short, precise sentences (interventions), small movements within the configuration, and by testing different alternatives. The aim is to arrive at a configuration that brings relief and points to a direction.

07

Closing

At the end of the session, we summarise the process, the emerging direction, and possible next specific steps.

Duration: An online session typically lasts 60-90 minutes, depending on the topic.
